With autumn creeping around the corner, I just HAD to get my last fill of flowers in. Sunflowers are my favorite way to end the summer sessions and mentally prepare myself for fall! I'm really passionate about family sessions and all the warm, fuzzy feels that comes along with them. This one was particularly special because I had the joy of documenting special moments for my own family!
Yenser's Tree Farm was the perfect location. They had a beautiful field of sunflowers tucked away in the countryside and I'm so thrilled we were able to find this gem!
I think it's safe to say all 4 of us had a great time walking amongst these giant beauties. Watching Dan and Jackie spend quality time with their son, Conor, is what life behind the camera is all about. They took the time to point out each flower admiring their individual beauty. Such sweet awe on Conor's face!! I am so fortunate to be able to document precious moments such as these.
I was so thrilled to see such enthusiasm illuminate from Conor! It could be safe to say he gets his love of flowers from his Aunt Missy ;) The bumble bees didn't intimidate this sweet boy from having so much fun. As I walked to my camera bag to change lenses you could hear his tiny voice shout, "Aunt Missy be careful!" His warm, caring nature is my favorite thing!
Incorporating play into my family sessions is bound to bring out all the smiles and giggles you can handle. Parents tend to forget about the camera and focus on connecting with their little ones. It's honestly my favorite time during family shoots and always what the kids remember most! In these moments I'm never sure who is having more fun!!
After all the excitement I like to end the session with snuggles. It's a precious way to wind down and fully focus on the love and connections between family members.
